Our research creates fundamental advances in Computational Science, including Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Mathematical Modelling.
We have a focus on real world application problems and meaningful validation of our new theoretical advances, and so draw also on expertise from engineering and social science, and strong partnerships with industry and other research institutions. We aim to provide a supportive environment where researchers of different experiences but common interests can work together and learn from each other.

Professor James Brusey, a leading figure in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and reinforcement learning, has been appointed as an Innovate UK BridgeAI Independent Scientific Advisor at The Alan Turing Institute, the UK’s national centre for data science and AI.
Professor Elena Gaura will co-chair the Computer Science and Informatics panel as part of the prepatory work for the Research Excellence Framework 2029.
